主战坦克的战场角色

  The Main Battle Tanks are the center points of each team. The team tactics revolve around them and their capabilities due to their unique ability to charge forward and soak up damage thanks to their thick armor. MBTs are made to lead both attacks and stubborn defenses. That is not to say that they are invulnerable or that they can decide battles on their own. They can generally be outflanked and have to in many cases rely on support of other classes.

  Main Battle Tanks should favor areas that don’t allow the enemies to easily flank them, such as:

  · Mountain passes

  山口

  · Valleys with tall sides

  两侧有遮挡的峡谷地形

  · Cities and other urban areas

  城市地形

  In such environments, the MBT class can use its main advantage – thick frontal armor that should always be positioned towards the most dangerous enemy or towards potential threats.

  Future plans for Main Battle Tanks

  The biggest change that we are planning for the Main Battle Tanks will not be a direct one, but the introduction of the Armor Inspector in Update 0.23. The Armor Inspector is a feature that allows players to check the armor of every tank in the Garage on a simplified model. Each piece of tank’s surface will be displayed in artificial colors, corresponding to various armor types and thicknesses. The introduction of this feature will lead to a better understanding of each tank’s weakspots and to the better understanding how to deal with them.

  The second planned change will concern mobility changes in Update 0.22. As the first thing, we are planning to take a look at how the engines work in Armored Warfare. In the future, we will make the turbine engines behave differently that diesel engines – turbines will be able to accelerate better at high speeds (from 32 km/h to maximum speeds) while diesels will provide better acceleration from the get go (from 0 km/h to 32 km/h). Transmission will also play a role – Russian tanks can typically for example accelerate faster even for diesel engines but won’t have as high maximum speed as the Abrams tanks for example. All in all, the acceleration differences between various MBTs will reach up to 30 percent.

  This will make the turbine-powered T-80s and Abrams tanks behave differently from the diesel-powered Leopards and T-72s. In some cases, this feature will even allow players to switch between the two mobility settings of a single tank that has both engine types as an option.

  这将使得装备燃气轮机的T80和艾布拉姆斯坦克在机动性上与装备柴油机的豹2、T72有显著区别。在某些情况下,这个特点甚至会允许玩家在同一辆车上选择这两种引擎的特点,如果这辆车同时提供了这两种不同的引擎升级选择。

  In general, these changes will not slow the MBTs down (some tanks will have their maximum speed slightly reduced, some – like the Abrams – will have it increased), but it will somewhat reduce the overall acceleration to maximum speeds. In other words – up to approximately 32 km/h, the MBTs will accelerate as they do now (or even better), but acceleration to their maximum speed will be slower to provide better balance for lighter and better-accelerating classes, especially the Light Tanks.

  The third planned change concerns the vehicle accuracy and its modifiers. These will be adjusted as such:

  · Soviet T-series will, in accordance with their assault role, lose less accuracy while moving forward than any other MBTs

  · Leopard 2 tanks will be the most accurate ones in any situation

  · Abrams tanks will continue be the jacks-of-all-trades without any special penalties or bonuses

  · Challengers will lose very little accuracy from moving turret but will lose other accuracy normally (adjusting the loss to their static role)

  · Chinese tanks will also lose less accuracy just like the Soviet T-series, but not to such an extent. They will, however, also lose less accuracy when maneuvering, not just going forward

  类似于苏联T系列,中国坦克在前进时的精度下降同样会更少,但没有苏联坦克那样少。但他们在转向、机动时会有更好的精度。

  However, tanks with clips and ready racks will lose considerably more accuracy during sharp hull maneuvers.

  The fourth update concerns the American HEAT-MP ammunition – starting from Update 0.22, the HEAT-MP rounds will feature both shell effects (although to a lesser degree than specialized ammunition) – they will both penetrate the way HEAT shells do, but also create blast waves the way HE shells do, making them extremely potent if used properly.

  Last but not least, the upcoming Crew system overhaul will bring more diversity to MBT gameplay and will make the choice between autoloaded and manually loaded tanks more important.

  These changes are made to improve tactical gameplay and to reduce cases where MBTs are able to hunt down Light Tanks or even some AFVs due to their excellent high-end acceleration. Our plan for this class is to be a set of well-armed and well-armored vehicles without making them outclass every other vehicle class on the battlefield – even though they do just that in real life, our ultimate goal is to introduce not realism at all costs, but well-balanced gameplay.
